Words To Live By

This is definitely the anthem for anyone who is plowing their way through entrepreneurship or self employment.  Four years later, I am still not sure how the heck I am able to pull it off. I know you think I am crazy, but I pray every day the rug isn't pulled out from underneath me. Pardon the curse words.

#FuelYourBetter with Vega Sport

As I begin month four on adding three days of training sessions, I have hit an odd plateau...not that it wasn't challenging before, but now the weights are getting heavier and I am losing any kind of kinship with these machines. It is quickly becoming a love/hate relationship. The results will certain be worth it, but I am having a hard time staying motivated and energized, because its getting almost too hard. I am also starting to have a little self doubt when I can't do as good as I want to because I am getting tired in the middle of my workout.

I was happy to have the opportunity to review the Vega Sport line of products, there is a lot of different options and formulations to get started with, based on your need. As I looked through the products, I thought the Vega Sport Endurance gel was sure to be by best bet. Gels are easily digestible and anything that has the words electrolyte-enhanced energy shot is singing my name.

Another cool thing about this product is that it is dairy and gluten as well as soy free. The Endurance gel provided energy, was an excellent source of vitamin C and gave me back my electrolytes that was making me lose my steam at the gym.

Plus, Vega Sport Endurance Gel is the only gel on the market to feature coconut oil, a medium-chain triglyceride metabolized in the liver to provide instant, non-carbohydrate energy. Fancy words that explains so much!

Vega Sport asks How do you #FuelYourBetter? We are all at different levels of our workout program, how do you deal?? Take a look at their website and see what resonates with you and give their products a whirl to find out what is holding you back from your better?!

I received this product to review but opinions are my own.

Friday Five-Goals

Today I linked up with Eat, Pray, Run DC and You Signed Up for What, and Mar on the Run for this fun Friday Five

This week's theme is Goals!!

This comes at a really good time because I am at a weird crossroad.

Work
I have been working hard to practice what I preach, my client load for the first time in a long time is completely low maintenance. Everyone is in a groove, noone is being unreasonable or needy and all information is completely under control. I could prob use one more day of organizing it all but I am almost there. I just dream and dream to run my business seamlessly, with fun and ease. It is possible and I am pulling it off. I think that is why I am constantly tweaking my system. I get really excited when new things work my way. Hootsuite has stepped up their game this month and made some huge upgrades on their app to make some of the things that I do work more seamlessly with everything else. For that I am grateful.

Working on my Fitness.
I have got to get back on my running horse. Now allegedly there are bears in my neighborhood. WTF! Gators and Bears oh my. That's all I need, anxiety while I run.

Crossroad.
Trying to make a difference, someway somehow. I feel like something is missing creatively to make me feel whole  but can't put my finger on it.

Stop eating like a Silly Person!
Funny, I go to the gym three times a week but I have not been eating as good as I should. As soon as I get back from this cruise, I am back on the healthy horse.

Do More Yoga
I have a free yoga membership. This is sad, and I maybe my enlightenment can be found here.

What are your goals? Are they as white girl problematic as mine?

Tell Zephyrhills Whats Your Florida Favorite To Clean Up Hillsborough River #FLFAVORITES

I am one of those odd birds that has lived her whole life in Daytona Beach...ahem Ormond Beach. My family is ALL from Long Island but they moved down here right before I was born. There is a lot of great things about living here but the gorgeous weather is my favorite part. Yes, it is hot, but I am an early bird so you just get up earlier to get your stuff done or get your run on !! And my basil kicks major booty in this Florida sunshine.

So what is Florida known for besides great Spring Breaks, Disney World and large yummy oranges? Did you know that Zephyrhills Water is sourced from Crystal Springs, located near Crystal Springs and Zephyrhills, Florida, as well as other Florida springs? PS, Zephyrhills used to hold the greatest concert festival I ever went to, anyways....I digress.

Zephyrhills is encouraging Tampa Bay residents to tell them what your “Florida Favorite” is by using #FLfavorites on social media – every time the hashtag is used, Zephyrhills will donate $1 to the Hillsborough River cleanup project along with Tampa Bay Watch and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful.

You can find Zephyrhills Social accounts here: Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

Use the hashtag #FLfavorites as many times as you like through September 15th and help them reach their goal of $50,000 for the Hillsborough River Cleanup Project. This donation will complete a series of “We Love Florida’s Water” land and water-based projects including river clean-up, watershed education, and recycling activities..

Use the hashtag and help keep Tampa Bay Beautiful.

I was compensated by Zephyrhills for the time spent on this post, however opinions are my own.

How To Organize Your Handbags for $2

My friend Heather from The Etiquette Seed was sweet enough to quote the one saying I will go to my grave screaming-

#HandbagEtiquette A wise woman once made an interesting observation: A HANDBAG is something you carry as an accessory. A PURSE is something you do with your lips. #LittleBlogDress

To say that I have a penchant for handbags is like saying Kate plus 8 likes to birth babies, as I wont spend much on shoes, I blink very little at handbag prices. I have been salivating on the Louis Fill All and really am thinking of how I can pull this off, as it is a mortgage payment. Anyway. purse storage is impossible unless you have a Mariah Carey size closet. BUT!!!! I have the found the perfect solution, I am so giddy from this awesomeness, I may go buy another handbag because I clearly now have so much freaking room!

Like Carrie Bradshaw said, and I just squealed at my husband-

And now I can, and you can too! I went to the dollar store bought shower rings for a dollar apiece and BOOM!

Come on robbers, come and get me!

Friday Five: Friday Favorites

Today I linked up with Eat, Pray, Run DC and You Signed Up for What, and Mar on the Run for this fun Friday Five

This week's theme is Friday Favorites!!

First off, I can not believe it is Friday! This week flew by! But it has been a good one!

Begin Again
If you have not seen this movie, I implore you run, not walk into your theater and catch it. I went with my two girlfriends, one who is not a Keira fan. But bless her, she came anyway and I think she liked it! I LOVED it!

1. Set in NY, any movie that makes me want to leave the theater and go straight to the airport is my favorite.

2. It was based on the life of an A/R record rep....and it was spot on.

3. Adam Levine did a really good job, for his first big film! I was impressed.

4. Great soundtrack and great great story.

Bahamas.
Yes, I will be taking a quint jaunt to the only tropical island that will afford me on Thursday for Megan's bachelorette party. We will be leaving on Thursday and back on Sunday. It has been a couple of years since I have been so yeah! How the hell will I be able to deal with no email?

Cheers to My Health!
This week marks SIX years of my brain thingy (also known as a shunt placement due to hydrocephalus). When I think how much I have learned since this crossroad was shoved in front of me...it makes me really happy and a little emotional.

Praying for a Pinterest No Fail
I have been looking to do this project for a couple of weeks now. When I attended my first oil painting class, yes it is of Picasso quality-but in the wrong color scheme. So I am gonna do this, with my favorite saying (yet to be decided), what do you think?? My sister is having a heart attack that I am ruining my painting but I think it will be cool!

No Agenda Weekend
This is my favorite kind, I literally have one thing I HAVE to do this weekend!! The rest is all me. It actually started today when I got up. I zipped through work and found I was done by 7a, went to the gym, worked on a couple of to dos....watched two hours of Big Brother, TOOK A NAP...holy cow, and now I write to you. I plan on lots of organizing writing and catching up on life, how about you?

Grown Up Ramen with al fresco #Giveaway

Columbia Crest is partnering with al fresco all natural, America’s #1 chicken sausage brand, to help you wine and dine better by pairing al fresco’s favorite seasonal dishes with the perfect Columbia Crest wine.

You can enter to win an ALL-EXPENSE PAID trip to the Columbia Crest Winery in Washington State. All they have to do is ‘Like’ al fresco on Facebook and submit the required form as directed!

I was asked to create a recipe and pairing for this contest and I think you are gonna really like what I came up with. There is something very satisfying about being able to pull off grownup Ramen Noodle soup using al fresco dinner fully cooked chicken sausage.

This is my variation of the recipe originally from Cooking with Beer.

Ingredients

3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 whole Large Onion, Diced
3 whole Medium-sized Carrots, Diced
2 stalks Celery, Diced

1 teaspoon Salt + More As Needed
1 teaspoon Pepper + More As Needed
3 cloves Garlic, Minced
¼ cups Fresh Parsley, Chopped + More For Garnish

4 cups Beef Broth
1 cup Water
3 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
2 teaspoons Sriracha
Two packets of ramen noodles
One package of al fresco dinner fully cooked chicken sausage.

2 whole Hard Boiled Eggs For Garnish
¼ cups Green Onions, Chopped For Garnish

Preparation Instructions

In a 5-quart Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion, carrots and celery. Season with salt and pepper and cook until tender, about 8 minutes. Add the garlic and the parsley and cook for another 2 minutes or until you begin to smell the garlic. Now, add the beef broth, water and soy sauce. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil then lower the heat to simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
Add the Sriracha, noodles, and sausage and continue to simmer until the noodles are al dente, about 6-7 minutes (or according to package instructions for al dente).

Adjust the seasoning by adding more salt, pepper and/or Sriracha. Serve hot and garnish with hard-boiled eggs, green onions and parsley.

I chose to pair this with a delicious red wine-Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon, look at all the cute things they sent me to make my summer dining complete!

Fourth of July Cocktails

Nothing says summer like getting a group of your closest friends together for some fun in the sun…and there’s no better time than the 4th of July. This year, mix it up, throw in some unexpected twists and give your friends and family a party to remember!

Every 4th of July party needs something sweet with a nod to the red, white and blue. Put a twist on a traditional ice cream sandwich with Häagen-Dazs’s new gelato flavor, Pomegranate Swirl, for the perfect blend of sweet and tart sensations that will have your guests wondering if you’ve been taking cooking classes on the sly:

1 scoop of Häagen-Dazs Pomegranate Swirl
2 homemade white chocolate chip cookies

Make an unexpected summery drink like a White Mojito for guests to enjoy poolside.

1.5 oz. Captain Morgan White® Rum

.5 oz. fresh lime juice

.5 oz. simple syrup

fresh mint, muddled

fresh limes, cut into small pieces

1 oz. club soda

1 mint sprig

Directions: Put all ingredients except club soda and mint sprig into a mixing glass. Add ice and shake vigorously. Add club soda, shake once, and pour into a tall glass. Garnish with a mint sprig

Lazy Day Breakfast

If you havent heard, in Florida its been yucky and rainy for days. Perfect day to whip up some yummy breakfast! I had made some mashed potatoes for my sisters birthday party this weekend and thought this would be a good compliment if I could pull off potato pancakes. I would like to announce that I nailed it! Thank you Kelly from Just a Taste for making it look so easy!

Now that breakfast was off to a great start, how to bring it home?? I am loving Thomas' Limited Edition Cinnamon Vanilla English Muffins. All their flavors are yummy but these are awesome!

Playing off of the dessert for breakfast trend, Thomas’ is introducing Cinnamon Vanilla English Muffins and Maple French Toast Bagels. Cinnamon Vanilla English Muffins are the only brand new flavor that Thomas’ will be introducing in 2014 and were inspired by cinnamon buns, offering the same sweet scent and flavor but with a crunchy texture in each bite.

They are delicious as a sweet morning treat when topped with butter, and strawberries and cream like I did here or as a savory-sweet combo when topped with eggs and bacon. Hurry! These are only available for a limited time!

Follow them on Facebook!
